Recently, good news came from the Zhejiang market. Shanghai Municipal Administration won the bid for the construction drawing design of a new pumping station project to move the water intake head upward in Xiaoshan, Hangzhou. The design scale of the project is 1.7 million m³/d. This project is another super-large water pumping station project undertaken by the General Institute in Hangzhou after moving the water pumping station up the water intake in Hangzhou.
The water sources of Xiaoshan District (including Dajiangdong) and Binjiang District south of the Qiantang River in Hangzhou are Fuchun River and Qiantang River, and the water intake points are scattered. In order to reduce the contradiction between water source protection areas and urban development, accelerate the process of building Hangzhou into an international city, improve the safety of water source water quality, and reduce the threat of salt water intrusion, it is urgent to relocate the water intakes of water plants in the Jiangnan area upstream. This project plans to move the water intakes on the south bank of the Qiantang River to near the Shimensha water intake of the Fuchun River to achieve centralized protection and unified management of the drinking water source protection zone in the Jiangnan area.
This project is a key project related to the socio-economic development and people’s livelihood in Jiangnan District of Hangzhou City. Through the construction of this project and reasonable connection with the existing water supply system, “centralized water intake” has been achieved "Dual water source water supply pattern of Qiantang River (Fuchun River) and Qiandao Lake", joint supply of rivers and reservoirs, interconnection and interoperability, and dispatch through one network.
Previously, the General Hospital took the lead in winning the bid for the second phase EPC project of moving the water intake upward in Hangzhou. The main content is the water intake project in the area north of the Qiantang River in Hangzhou. The total water intake scale is 300 10,000 m³/d. The existing Fuchun water intake pumping station in the area south of the Qiantang River was designed by the General Institute of Technology. Together with the 1.7 million m³/d water intake pumping station newly undertaken this time, more than 95% of the water intake on both sides of the Qiantang River in Hangzhou was designed by the General Institute of Technology. The situation is gratifying, with the total water intake reaching 5.7 million m³/d.
From water intake to water plants, in the process of creating a low-carbon and efficient modern water supply pattern for Shanshui Hangzhou, the General Research Institute has contributed its wisdom to the Hangzhou water market.
