The world's largest reverse osmosis desalination project under construction - the Tawil desalination project in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, has officially been put into commercial operation.

Recently, the Tawil seawater desalination project in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, which was contracted by the EPC general contract of Shandong Power Construction No. 3 Company, a subsidiary of Power China, completed the reliability operation of the entire plant and was officially put into commercial operation.

The Tawil desalination project in Abu Dhabi is the largest reverse osmosis desalination project currently under construction in the world. It brings together the most advanced desalination technology from more than 10 countries around the world and has a daily water production of 900,000 cubic meters, which can produce 324 million cubic meters of water throughout the year, meeting the annual water needs of nearly 1 million people.

Since the start of the project, the project execution team has fully demonstrated the "high, strict, detailed and practical" work style and achieved more than 25 million safe production hours. In terms of unit performance, it has set a record for the lowest specific power consumption of similar seawater desalination projects in the world, and has been highly praised and appreciated by owners and investors.

The project has won the 2022 Seawater Desalination Project Engineering Award in the Middle East, the 2022 Seawater Desalination Project Engineering Award in the United Arab Emirates, and the 2023 World's Best Desalination Plant Award.
